About Dr Martin

Dr Andrew Scott Martin is an Orthopedic Surgeon specializing in Joint Replacement and Sports Medicine. Dr Martin is a graduate of Howard University College of Medicine in Washington DC, where he graduated at the top of his class and was inducted to the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. He remained in Washington DC and completed his orthopedic residency training at Howard University Hospital. Dr Martin went on for additional fellowship training at the AI Dupont Institute in Wilmington, Delaware.

Following his fellowship training Dr Martin began his active duty tour in the United States Navy. He was stationed at Bethesda Naval Hospital in Maryland. During his tour he served as Department Head of Orthopedic Surgery aboard the naval hospital ship USNS Comfort. He is a veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom where he managed orthopedic war injuries in both American and Iraqi armed forces. Dr Martin played an active role in the training of military orthopedic residents as well as medical students at the Uniformed Services University.

After completing his service to the United Sates Navy Dr Martin joined the faculty at Sinai Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland as Assistant Orthopedic Residency Director. Dr Martin then moved to the Las Vegas area in 2004 and has been an active member in the medical community. He has a special interest in the management of orthopedic conditions involving the shoulder, hip and knee.

Dr Martin specializes in minimally invasive joint reconstruction and arthroscopic treatment of sports related injuries. The remainder of Dr Martin’s time is spent with his wife and two sons. He enjoys a wide variety of sports activities, but his favorite past time activity is watching his sons compete especially in wrestling.
